About The Project
The Rule 20B Undergrounding (Almont + La Peer) Project is part of upgrading the Design District’s electrical and telecom networks.
The work for the Rule 20B Undergrounding is focused on the removal of overhead electrical and telecom wires and associated infrastructure, and replacement with new underground system within public right-of-way and private property.
The project includes upgrading and replacing infrastructure on private property for connections.
Rule 20B provides a mechanism for funding projects to underground overhead wires. Rule 20 is the tariff that governs utility undergrounding of overhead wires at the request of third parties (e.g., local governments, businesses, and residential customers).
