The Melrose Avenue (East) Streetscape Improvement Project is the first phase of the City of West Hollywood’s Design District Streetscape Improvement Program, to enhance the vibrancy, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of its renowned Design District.

About The Project
The Melrose Ave (East) Streetscape Improvement Project focuses on enhancing mobility and increasing pedestrian-friendly accessibility.
Key features include expanded sidewalks, LED energy-efficient streetlight poles, electric vehicle charging stations, LCD screen bus stations with charging ports, and unique landscaping featuring 130 newly planted trees.

- Municipal fiber optics network establishing public Wi-Fi & future Smart City applications
- Up to 30 EV charging stations
- New landscape and irrigation
- Smart Bus Shelters with free public Wi-Fi, USB chargers, and next bus arrival time signage
